Jeff Smith, Chief Operating Officer

A 28-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Smith has had positions ranging from manager to general manager to area director to owner. Currently, he is a Partner with Harry & Izzy’s, an independent upscale American Grill in Indianapolis.

Smith is a native of Louisville, Kentucky, where he attended the University of Louisville and majored in finance.  He moved to Indianapolis in 1997 to be a partner with Outback Steakhouse and was Proprietor of the Year in 1999 and 2000.  He and his partners opened Bonefish Grill in 2002 in Louisville and Indianapolis, and Smith was awarded Proprietor of the Year in 2003 and 2004 by the parent company OSI.

Smith is a family man who believes in a strong vibrant community.  He has been involved with many community service projects.  He is on the board of directors for the 500 Festival where he has chaired Kid’s Day on the circle, chaired Snake Pit Ball, served on the finance committee, fund raising committee and other committees for the festival.  He is a Trustee for the Indianapolis Marion County Public Library.  He has been a member and/or supported the 100 Black Men of Indianapolis since moving to Indianapolis and received the Diamond Award in 2004 which is their highest award given for support of the organization. He works annually with the Beautillion and teaches an etiquette session.  He is also supporter of the Coalition of 100 Black Women and is active in helping organize Gourmet Gents the main fundraiser for the organization.

Smith and his wife, Lisa, have three children, Briana, Jasmine and Colton.  They are active members of Eastern Star Church.
